Meenakshi

Ms. Meenakshi is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, theatre practitioner and teacher. She has extensively trained in the field of Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Natyaacharya Sri. V. P. Dhananjayan and Srimathi. Shantha Dhananjayan in their dance school The Bharatakalanjali. While under the training of Sri. L. Narendra Kumar of Anusham dance group and Smt. Anusha Natarajan, she was a senior member of the Anusham Dance group and has participated in several of their mega productions like SHAKTHI and GANGA. She was also part of the Bharatakalanjali ensemble between 2015 to 2020 and have performed in some of their major productions like Mouna Kural, a thematic theatrical presentation, Kadhal Valli Kanda Murugan, and Dhoorjati along with playing the lead role of Radha in their magnum opus production Madhava Geetam.

Meenakshi is a recipient of the Scholarship for Bharathanatyam from the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT) Government of India, Laguna Pandit Puraskar Award given by the NGO “Say What” for upcoming artistes in the field of Natyam and the scholarship by government of Tamilnadu through their Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram‘s; Ilam Kalignargal Ookuvikum Thitam through which she has had the opportunity to perform at various places across Tamilnadu.

Apart from Dance she is also an avid Theatre practitioner and trainer. She has performed for the Magic Lantern Theatre group in their plays Sooravali, and Ponniyin Selvan. She is currently in the Performing arts field as a teacher of the arts and is working with Alchemy academy of Performing arts. She is working as the Senior coordinator for Alchemy kids theatre and their Alchemy academy of Performing arts Centre of Excellence where children are given training in their chosen Performing-arts field be it Theatre or Dance to be University ready and thereby helping them create a career in it.
